Bowman's Tower

This is a trip to Bowman's Tower , PA. I also used to frequent this gorgeous site. This is a tower erected as commemorative monument to George Washington and his army.
When you look out over the top, you see the Delaware River and all the things George Washington and his troops would have seen.

And, of course, this is smack dab in the middle of GORGEOUS country....great for sightseeing!

Rockband

Back at my sister's house they have Rockband...which quickly became a family fave. Elias couldn't get enough!

Doug, Kristine, Brian and Elias

Brian took turns on everything

Sebastian even got into it. He loved the microphone too! But he mostly mouthed it...gross!

Elias would pounce on Dougie as soon as he came home from work. Like the indulging Uncle he is, he gave in!

It's a fun game. I'd even think about buying it here.

Sebastian's First Time Rollerskating!

Once a month we go to Homeschool Skate day...Brian and Elias always skate, and the baby runs around.  He surprised me this time! Half way through the event, he marched up to the counter and asked the man for skates! Seriously!

So, we got a pair of skates, and he went off! Here he is with Brian...so happy he's a "big boy"!

Photobucket

He did not enjoy the rink...it was very loud with music and speakers right over head. But he did love rolling around not only on the carpet, but on the linoleum part by the snack counter! He fell a few times and got right back up.

We called Daddy and he was able to swing in for a few minutes to see this great event! Sebastian's First Time Rolleskating!

My 1st House

And, here's my first house. I loved it. I loved having my own home, I loved the floorplan, I loved the neighbors, I loved the backyard, I loved the Street. I didn't love the taxes LOL!

The House I Grew Up In

Here's the beloved house I grew up in. The "new" owners took off the shutters, and added more modern big wide open plate glass windows all over. It was more traditional looking with the shutters and nice wooden framed windows. The house sits on 3 acres of wooded land. Big back yard surrounded by a clothesline that mom used all the time. Neighbors close by but not too close....and so much fun to offer in the woods.

It's on a road that dead ends...the first bit of the road is paved, and then for years the portion that led to my house was dirt. Now it's tarred. Every few years they come along and re-tar it. One and a half lanes, through the overhanging forest, down about a mile. It's beautiful. It was paradise to raise kids in.

Mary's Shower

We had my sister's Bridal Shower at a local restaurant. Here's the happy couple opening their presents. This one happens to be from me.

I was in charge of the Ribbon Hat. I am so awful at things like that, but it looks ok, huh?!

Here we are, minus one bridesmaid....Michelle, Mary, Me, and our sis-in-law, Kristine.

Lost River Caverns

Another much anticipated field trip! Also in PA, called the Lost River Caverns.  This place is spectacular!  It's family owned and operated, and in addition to being a beautiful cave, they have a HUGE store devoted to rocks and lapidary and rock hunting, etc. Over the years I've bought most of our rock finds and educational pieces there. This time was no exception! I came back with an LED black light, SCORE!

Here's a wall of flowstone

They have a chapel room, they light candles and turn off the lights. It's beautiful.

Here's a big example of a stalactite. Remeber, StalacTites come from the Top and stalagmites come from the bottom.
